Propolis Fusion: study points out product benefits

A study carried out to analyze the product revealed the details of its potential. The research was carried out by Beeva's technical team, in partnership with the Regional University Center of Espírito Santo do Pinhal (UNIPINHAL), the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (Unesp), and the National Telecommunications Institute.

What is propolis fusion?

Used by bees as a defense instrument, propolis is a bee product formed from the collection of floral fluids present in the vegetation surrounding the hive. Therefore, each vegetation provides different substances, which can have different applications in human health.

To combine these different properties, Beeva created the propolis fusion extract, which is the result of the union of the wild, green and red varieties. In this way, the product is able to aggregate the functions of the three. In addition, it has a concentration of 21%, which is above most of the products on the market. Thus, it can already be seen that it is an excellent ally of your immune system.

Antioxidant action

According to the result of the research carried out with the propolis fusion extract, the product has 1.037% and 1.75% concentration for flavonoids and phenols totals, respectively. As a result, it goes well beyond the minimum required by Brazilian law, which is 0.25% and 0.50%, respectively.

Thus, we observe that it is a product that brings a differential to the market. With a higher concentration of these substances, the propolis fusion extract also delivers more efficient results.

We say this because bioactive compounds directly influence its antioxidant action. Phenols and flavonoids make propolis able to protect the biological system against the effects of processes or reactions that cause excessive oxidation. The production of free radicals is an example.

Antimicrobial action

To verify the efficiency of propolis fusion against microbial agents, tests were carried out with yeasts, bacteria, and fungi. Beforehand, we can already say that the results were very satisfactory since the product proved to be effective against all the strains analyzed.

An example of a bacteria we can mention is Staphylococcus aureus. Normally present in the human body, it can become unbalanced and cause infections in the skin or mucous membranes. The product was also effective against the fungus Aspergilus flavus, which causes respiratory diseases and allergies.

With these results, it is possible to observe that the extract can be used preventively, helping to prevent infectious diseases.
